hi to everybody.is it normal for the turbo to be whistling.have just fitted a new one and it seems to be very loud.never noticed it before now

Yep - some are louder than others mate - Tony and crew will be able to tell you why etc (as I'm an engineerophobe!! lol).

It depends how loud the whistle is, but as Scotty said they all whistle to some degree. Why do turbo's whistle, you would to if you were spinning at 150,000 rpm!

Yeah normal for a bit of whistle , i have a schwitzer turbo on the GU 4.2 and it whistle's its little head off , what brand of turbo have you fitted ?

Excuse me gents, but, didn't I read a post here, saying " if you start to get a louder whistle from turbo it was a bad thing"?
Has Guyforks bought a 2nd hand one?

If you have a turbo and it starts getting louder then you may have a problem. If you replace a turbo and it sounds different it "may" not indicate a problem, it could just be a slightly different angle on the turbine blades or some other minute difference.

My factory turbo whistles since I cut the 3 inch exhaust muffler off :)

spray some soapy water around the intercooler and pipes and check for leaks and crakes this can cause a whistle also.
