My MQ stinks whilst driving.recently replaced the exhaust manifold gasket.condition of the manifold is ok.there is one broken off securing bolt at the rearend of the engine block.
The exhaust is in good condition also.Anyone had similar problem ? fixes ?

Had a faulty fuel cap in a commodore once and car car stunk big time

i have an emergency fuel cap in use.I will change that and eliminate that for fumes.

If it's fuel check all the fuel line connections are tight. Lok for fuel leaking from carby.

If it's exhaust check flange and manifold as well as muffler.

If it's oil check tappet cover for leaks pooling down onto manifold.

Also check that exhaust is exiting gases out from unde vehicle and not being vacumed back up in through tailgate, throught the lack of rubbers sealing glass against bottom tailgate.

Found that the flange is leaking exhaust fumes,so a gasket replacement required.I have replaced the fuel cap with a correct type too.

Not quite ,just the flange gasket to replace.then we'll be good.
