Just stumbled across this lot which are doing a Camper's Bulk Pack (Beginners may benefit).

Quite a lot of gear included which you may be able to buy cheaper but if people weren't fussed than this would be a pretty good starting pack

Don't forget to stop into the old garage sale every now and then too.

Some garage sales I've been too have a shed full off 40 years of camping and they just want it all gone from tools to cooking gear, etc.

True ,as guy up the road brought a self inflating mattress, top of the range for something like $10.
I first thought gee that's expensive, then started to add up the cost of my gear and the fact if its still
available. As most ppl are always updating my club has a BOOT sale for all used camping gear,
as OD said great Op for newbies to pick up some bargains. Its a never ending thing as camping gear
continues to improve. Try to buy once and buy smart if you can
