Hello patrollites!

Started my little thread here about my little adventures around the Coffs Coast, Thought I might share some things I've seen and where I've Been!

I'm by no means an expert 4wd'er, In fact I'm really a novice but have learnt so much in the short time I've had the patrol.

If anyone likes a place let me know I can send you maps etc.

Cheers,
Eric.

Today we went out to the back of Coramba and visitted the King Coramba gold mine, Was mined in the late 1800's and then re-mined in the 1930's, Need some gumboots to go for a look inside but it goes a fair way in I am told!

This is the entrance and all I could get as it was real wet and raining.

Today took some friends out to Yuraygir National Park north of Coffs to visit the Keyman.

Legend has it that a Lithuanian tightrope walker-Jonas Slovenski-hand made this statue in memory to his maker. He came to this forest looking for solitude in the 1960’s and earned himself a reputation as a fearless axeman, mostly because he worked in the nude- wearing nothing but a pair of gumboots. When he wasn’t cutting timber he exercised his balancing skills on cables stretched high above the trees. Local 4wders started hanging old keys on the statue, and so the name stuck.

Part of Sherwood road that was washed out from the heavy rain, Was about a foot deep near the top, Not hard to drive by any means, but for a flat track to erode like this shows how much rain had been coming down.

Unsure of it, there is no history on the keyman which is a shame.
