Need some help or advice, and I know this is a personal choice....

Pedders vs Old Man Emu

I'm looking to replace the springs and dampers on my GR/GU Shortie, I don't want to lift it, just replace the sagging original bits, they old, corroded, and about to die. So was going to change both F&R, but here in the UK, I can only get the 2 brands.

Which is the "better"

OME better in my opinion, I've had both and the Pedders were not as good as what my new OME ones are. You will pay more for OME but it's worth it I reckon.

OME in a heart beat. No bad choices there I don't think, have not read a bad thing about Pedders but the OME is fair dinkum top rate gear. You won't know yourself.

OME in front of Iron Man without question. they are simply not on the same page fracster, if he can get the OME at a good price then its the winner for sure. No Comparison. IMO

The 8 valver, it was slightly quicker to 50 mph than the Evos, but they left it for dead after that. Still a bloody quick car that handled superbly as well.

Got rid when daughter number 1 was born, I think I would have killed myself in that car. Got a Dedra turbo instead, that was no slouch either, very under rated cars.

Mate of mine used to have a 1988 16v turbo but he felt it wasn't quick enough so got an import Nissan Pulsar GTI-R which was stupidly quick lol

No Problems Hijacking here :)

And it's really great to have the opinion of so many forum members - thanks all.
OME wins! With a tie for second between Ironman and Pedders.

And if I'm replacing Springs and Dampers - should I replace all the rubber bushes with Poly ?

MudRunnerTD
15th June 2013, 07:11 AM
good Choice mate

No definitely NOT.

Leave teh Nissan Rubber bushes right where they are and replace them on a Needs basis with new quality Nissan Rubber bushes. Poly bushes are Junk and noisy and they tear out quickly.

The poly is too hard, and cracks very quickly under constant articulation, when offroading.

If you are only driving around the roads, with the occasional bush track, they would be OK.
