June long weekend

Ok so yet there will be another long weekend upon us and I'm looking for any members that are keen to go for a wheel. This time I'm heading out to Dundee for an over night trip chasing some barra and what ever comes my way. Fishing is land based and there will be some beach driving looking for other places for future camps. If any one is keen let me know........

Love to be able to go out with you Timmo, but way too far away. I will be in the Territory at the end of the month, after 12 years away... but down the southern end

Well as luck would have it, I went with the wife and kids......no other trolls ended up coming or any other lesser four wheel drives came either, but was not going to let that get in the way..................................after much deliberation with the wife and knowing how much she hates camping unless there was a shower,cafe,shops hotel room and all that other poo city chicks need she talked me out of camping.

With the excuses and all that we finally made it to our spot.......being a long weekend it was full of people and bikes and quads and yobbos and hoons hooning along the beach at world speed records so the kids did not get much of a play but they did get to muck around in the water with dad watching out for the snapping hand bags..........

managed to talk the wife into driving the troll with some instructions and some motivation talk she soon was on her way, not knowing how to change gears it was a nice slow drive along the beach with the wife trying to beat a kid on a tiny bike that was over taking her, after finding the clutch and putting the car into second and then into third she was on her way. we pulled up to let the kids out for some more beach fun.....and a wee.

after this it was time to get the fishing rods out and have a fish, after an hour of throwing the cast net around I managed to get some nice whitting and some mullet for live bait......after aout an hour my boys rod was screaming its ring out with the boy yelling at me that he thinks he had one and yes he had a bloody sting ray....not a barra.....got it in to about 5 metres when snap goes the line and son and father fall flat on backsides from pulling the line to hard but crap happens......

not any other fish was caught by us or the hordes of fisher people trying to catch the elusive barra.......
