after a couple rum and cokes and a lot of bullshit dribbling from the chin after xmas tea:1062:
we started to talk of larger tires and what size to go for on the patrol
we decided on 33 inch then the spanner was thrown in the works
you got an auto they dont like larger tires as it upsets everything spedo/gear shifts / torque converter / etc
can someone enlighten me on this matter as i would like larger rubber the old ones are about warn out and need to be replaced

I run 33" tyres on an auto Patrol with no problems at all. Fitting bigger tyres is like fitting taller diff ratio's, the engine has to work a little harder but that's it.

How about 315/75/16 with an auto box? Will this be to much strain on it?
I am looking at putting on a set of Hankang N-889 on the car.

It will put more strain on the driveline, not just the auto. If you haven't already got one fit a BIG transmission cooler. Excessive fluid temperatures is the single biggest killer of auto transmissions.

Have any of you guys used the Nankang tyres?
