My 2003 patrol somtimed looses power

My 2003 Patrol, petrol powered loosed power sometime and runs very rough. After i turn it off and restart it runs normaly any suggestions?

Going to need a bit more information before we can help you.
Is it a 4.5 or 4.8, I can't remember when they changed over? How often does the fault occur, engine hot or cold, is it a dual fuel car, if it is does it happen on petrol and gas etc etc. Any extra information you can give us will help us narrow down the possible causes.

Hey Mates,
My 2003 patrol is a 4.6 L and I changed the fuel filter and so far it seems to have fixed the problem. The car was running very rough and loosing power, it would regain power after i tuned the ignition off and back on again. Changing the fuel fiter fixed all that !

You sure it's a 4.6? I've only heard of 4.2 and 4.8 twin cam.
