Hi everyone! Today I will show you my unexpected finding.
After first warm spring rains usually we go to the heels bush (but actually it’s a semi savanna) and mushroom hunting. There no interesting offroad just easy ride. This week was not warm enough so we found only 10 mushrooms. So we made bbq, and other relaxes. After dinner I decided climb to the nearest heel summit to take a few photos. On the top I unexpectedly found a few small petroglyphs. Then I climbed the other heels peak. So after a few hours of heel walking I took about 90 photos of petroglyphs. The most interesting pics I post for you now.

PS. These petroglyphs are from Bronze Era and was made 3500-4000 years ago.

PPS. I overburn some photos for better contrast ratio.

Awesome to think all that time ago a dude was there with his family telling a story, Thats Gold in anyone book.
WOW, That small rock on the ground would look good on coffee table. yes/no

I take it they are antelope of some description, similar to Scimitar ??
And blue sheep or ram

Keep coming back here to look at the pics completely blows me away that 4000 odd yrs later
Wine-maker is standing with his family telling a story, where all that time ago another family did the same
thing in exactly the same spot.
bit of a bummer about the Graffitti, not big on trees either in your part of the world hey

May be next time I will find one to take home. Some of them are quite big and have many cracks so they cant be sawed without destroy of pics.
I saw pics of mountain goats, camels, dogs, peoples, markhoors, deers, horses, boars, antelopes.
This place are 170 km from mountains. In mountains we have big pine and spruce trees like these:

I think maybe best if all this History is left in place for others to discover.

Agree. If everyone take home a small part there is nothing to find for next generations.

Thanks for posting Alexander.
Are there any descendants of the culture who created the petroglyphs left who still value them in their culture today? Like you say I think it best the petroglyphs be left where they are for others to discover. Similar to Aboriginal sacred sites here. I have walked in some very special places where artifacts thousands of years old were just lying around on the ground, & skeletons of the 'old people' were occasionally seen, exposed by the wind & rain. The 'rule, with all of these was was to not disturb them as they form part of t he songlines which connect today's culture with all that has gone before, back to the beginning of time.

No, I don't think so. Because here in Central Asia was a few big culture mixing and wars in far past. So no one can say it for sure that was this made by their ancestries.
But it is bad that this place not call historically valuable place. Not many people know about it and no one secure this place.

Just a couple of rock carvings from a little north of where I live. Have no idea how old but have worked out from some of these carvings that water was in a NE direction about 2 days walk At this site there is a small rock pool which is covered with 1 and 2 man rocks to protect what water is collected when it rains. There are quite a lot of these type of carvings around this particular area and most are slowly disintegrating due to the extreme changes of temp.45 + during the day and down to - 3 and below at night.

Those look like pretty impressive (& intact) petroglyphs TPC. I've seen a reasonable amount of rock paintings, but the only petroglyphs I've seen were at N'dala gorge east of Alice which I failed to photograph & were nowhere near as impressive.

Is this painted, not cut from solid stone?

Yes Cullyamurra waterhole is the spot.
From memory they are carved into the stone, was about 10 years ago I was there.

@ wine maker They are painted using natural rock crushed up ochres. As with most tells a story of how things are what they are or were created from the "dreamtime"
Wanjinas and the serpent figure a fair bit in "dreamtime " stories.

At Cuppa there are other rock Petroglphys at Hammersely Gorge, and of course the "Bradshaws" as being rubbish paintings by our Aboriginals in the Kimberleys
Had the priviledge of meeting Nipper {tribal elder] at the Rock many years ago, Would not think many full bloods left IMO Nipper was one as was Mary.
