Just finished editing and uploading the Vid of Winnie making it up the hill, I had to edit as there was about 4min of fiddling about in between making it up.

Of the 9 cars 1 turned around 2 made it under there own power (Winnie and Darren) and the rest needed to winch including 2 cars with no winches fitted so I had to come back down and tie the back of the car to a tree to stop me from sliding down.

This hill is tough and steep, on the way back down looking for Darrens mudflap I stuffed up and we did a very quick recovery with me leaning against a tree and risk of damage Darren directed Roscco to winch me sideways while I drove straight so as to pull me around without falling into the tree and doing lots of damage to my car.

I learnt something new that day and it will stay with me.

I dunno about that lol but this hill was pretty good, unlike anything I've driven before very small rocks and dirt was a death trap! You can see me lose grip straight away and shoot off to the wrong side when I come around the dog leg. Happened to everyone

Thanks guys for all the great pics and vids.

Really hope to be back in Aus one day with a Patrol to join in. Have to be a 4.8 though, to show the TD42s how to climb a hill. :) Only problem is, I'd need someone to tow me home as I'd have used my tank of fuel after one hill climb and couldn't afford another with Aus fuel prices!

Yes Phone track is phone track and the one we were all stuck on runs off Rocky track but has no name and is on no maps or GPS units.....

We where getting the track names from the nav units mate so you can't make a mistake.

I must have copped a decent hit inside my front left wheel arch? It's bent out from the inside and curled the quarter panel in towards the wheel and also pushed the front grille out a bit.

Chris the quarters will twist a little without too much effort. have you got some pics a little further away? I expect that to be a very easy fix mate. That side shot of your grill is too close to make out the trouble but the clips certainly look like they have popped out and the grill is forward.

Nah I reckon the wheel kicked something up because it's bent from the front of the wheel arch into the grille. I'll try fiddle with it tomorrow...... after I put a new set of belts on!

Tallarook is a very pleasant surprise, so many good tracks in such a small area. We found some pretty good ones on Sunday morning which Daz marked for another day - certainly some challenging stuff out there and so close. There is still steep track which we didn't get to.

Forget the locker and lets FIX a turbo on the side of you motor.... That should give you a half chubber !!

Mines the 1200 lb Grande. I took the rope off it last night and it's ridiculous to free spool. It was stiff when I got it and thought it might loosen up a bit but now it's insane. You can barely pull it out and have to brace yourself on the bar. Might have to save for a high mount.

I did a couple of tracks on 265's and only had trouble on 1 but managed to get thru it. I don't know about the stuff they did on sat but i don't think you would've had many dramas mate

@ Mudnut You'd be surprised how far a 4x4 will go with pressures down,
wheel placement and some momentum will get you. little steps mate
no one knows it all straight off. Go with experienced guys like MudRunner
that way you can't get bad habits, or join a club and do an awareness course
