Hi all,

This is a question from my mate with a GQ shorty. He is getting a massive variance in opinions from suspension retailers regarding what he will need to do to fit said tyres to his GQ. Anything from a 2 inch suspension lift to a , 2 inch body & 2 inch suspension and some have even said he will need to chop the guards.....input please!

2" should see him able to run 33s, might be close on front mudflaps
but spacers will fix that
No guard chopping or body lift required

As above mate, 2" is all is needed for 33's. Thats what I run and all good.

X2 with Nisshead....... I took off the front mudflaps due to rubbing on full lock but radius arm spacers will fix that, I'm just to lazy to do it lol.

What width 33s are you getting and what rims are they goin on?

Don't stroke it, TAP it!!!!.....

Yep ive got the same tyres as that on my wagon (33" x 12.5 R15) with a sagged 2" lift and it doesn't rub anywhere.

I've got the spacers on a 2" lift and my 33s have ruined the front guards haha

I run 33s with just a 2 inch lift does rub a bit on my front mudflaps but only slightly so it's not really enough for me to worry at the moment was even thinkin of holding the front mud flaps a bit further back with some jack chain to me side step..!

I meant the front mudflaps. Still haven't gotten around to ripping then off...

Um yeah I'm pretty sure they are -22. I'll double check later.

I don't have spacers. But every patrol seems to be slightly different for some reason lol. If it does rub on the front mud flaps with a 2" lift then you might be able to adjust the mud flaps, chain them back, or just remove them.

So 2 Inch suspension should be it....from memory they are 15 x 10 inch rims if this helps...will this cause dramas?

No, he shouldn't have any problems, he may or may not get a little scrubbing somewhere in the wheel arches on full flex but nothing major but I guess that will also depend on the offset of the rims
