Well I have finally bought the new valve body, has anyone had any experience putting one in, I hope to have it either Friday or Monday from wholesale automatics, i reckon it should only be an hour or so to put it in... Any suggestion would be good.

I am also installing a temp guage and lock up kit at the same time.....

Anyone know what temps the auto trans should run at??

It was easy for me because I got an auto place to do it lol. But my box was out and in a million bits in his bench anyway so it made sense.
Once fitted you will enjoy it thoroughly. Man they're awesome aren't they Scotty?

Too right mate - quick and sharp changes, heaps better kick down in power mode, and runs cooler.

So you go what's shown in this picture??? http://www.automatictransmission.com.au/release.asp?NewsId=8169

Scotty, I'm about to hit the sack so will get back on this 2morrow.

But I thought it was just a straight pull out old valve body and put new one in.

Well I have finished it... So much for an hour or so to change them over.... 5 hours.... I have taken it for a drive now... All seems to be working, how would I know if something was wrong?
No leaks which is good as well.... Tomorrow night I will do the temp guage and lock up switch!

Good to hear Scotty, I'm pretty sure you will tell if something was wrong.

Well on a positive note the new valve body works a treat.... As does the temp guage and lock up switch. Has it down yeagerup on sand dunes and beach the entire easter and it didn't miss a beat, I would recommend the temp guage to anyone, really changes how you drive.....
Now for the bad news.... I sent my valve body back to wholesale automatics the morning after I removed it from the car to get my 450 deposit back and they just rung me to say the valve body is rusted and no good.....how can this be, I even thought the oil was magic when I dropped it, they are saying my auto must have water in it.... I swear they have mixed this up over there or is it possible they are doing the dodge.... He said he could send me a pic but as I said, how would I know it is my valve body?
Had anyone else had this sort of problem with them?

I asked if they may have swapped it with someone else's, he said no ( after asking the girl if it could have been mixed up) he was suggesting that I sent him one that had been in a wrecked box.... I tried convincing him I don't have access to other boxes, he made me feel like I was screwing him........ Sometimes I hate living in perth as you have to trust too many people on the other side of the country and it is too easy for them to mess with ya.... Have had some good customer service but so I guess it all evens out in the end!! Just sux as it is the 450 dollars and the 30 dollars to send it there

Try Tassie mate! That bit of water means I get treated like I'm in another country lol.

That does suck mate - but as said, would find it odd for these guys to sting you ... not impossible, but they've been too notch for me over at least 4 separate dealings.

Sorry to hear mate!!

Scotty (Bigrig)

I agree with Scotty, I had really good dealings with them when purchasing my nomad. But I had the work done by a auto specialist so he mainly dealt with them. Dont suppose you got a pic of it before you sent? Or is there any distinguishing marks on it to prove it's yours or not?
Could it have been rusty and you not known?

I have the nomad, the lock up switch, and the temp gauge which I fitted my self,[with the help of the missus]. which really works a treat. especially towing a 19 ft van. sorry to hear you have troubles at wholesales but for me Rodney and the team were all to happy to help in any way they could.

It looked perfect when it came out... Was really happy with the oil too.... It was so good I was tempted to put it back in( I didn't) and there wasn't a mark on it..... They reckon it was rusted and seized..... Absolutely no way it could have done that in 6 days travelling( over easter).. They have to have mixed it up but unless I wanted to waste my time with legal action across borders I have nothing.... I just can't accept that was the condition it was in when it got there.....

Tell Rodney that if its not sorted in favour of you a lot of free advertising / links of his products on this website will be removed!

Besides a few little miss haps with there packaging, received damaged gaskets in transit and a wrong oil pump cover ( not really there fault, suppose to be a few different types not that I knew that ) I would of recommended them to anyone. I never spoke to Rodney directly my old man did, but I know Rodney was very helpful every step of the way when I was doing my gearbox rebuild.

Before reading your thread I would of and have highly recommended them to anyone that was doing work on there auto gearbox.

Don't think I will now though

I have emailed Rodney to see if he can look into this... It has to have been mixed up at there end!! Man I wish I took pics of it when I sent it

Tell him to send you a pic, then reply saying it was not your valve body as the the one you sent wasn't rusty looking when you sent it *L*

Don't email him, ring him. There has to be a mix up for sure

rottodiver

Well I left it with an email (as i believe it is better to keep things in writing)and absolutely no response, Rodney has had all day to respond and nothing....... Far from a professional way to run a business.... Oh well I guess the little people don't matter.

Just thought I would add to this now it has been a week..... Absolutely no response to emails, this company has plainly taken the 450 dollar deposit.... Scammers

Well I just received an email from Rodney,
He has said although there is water damage some parts are reusable( still don't understand the water damage bit) but he is willing to refund my deposit...
Thought I had lost it for sure, seems his reputation of being a descent guy is as should be!!
