Please keep in mind that I only bought this truck a coupla weeks ago, so it's only had a bath and one electric window fixed. Hopefully Santa will 'light' up my life soon.

Hey Kat, Very nice rig you have got yourself.
mmmmmmmm No dirt, No scratches, you will learn chicky, and it will be the best vehicle you have ever purchased.
You will get so much enjoyment out of it, and when you get it out bush you will think why didnt I get one sooner.
When I go bush, I dont go out to wreck my Trol but the occasional scratch will happen, you just have to grin and bare it, as long as its not a major ooopsy.
Take a bit of care until you get use to it and you will still enjoy the world of off road. You go girl !!

Cheers Pete

Yes, does need lots. Maybe if I'm nice Santa will start to supply some. One of the first things to go will be TV in the dash. It's no good come the digital age anyway. I live near a lot of bush, so I should be able to get plenty of practise when work doesnt interfere..

Timbo
3rd December 2010, 08:59 AM
Great looking rig Kat, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

As soon as you accept the fact in your head that it will get scratched and scuffed in the bush, you will enjoy driving the 4WD a hell of a lot more. No need to be careless though. :)

Not at all Kat, you are what you are as are we. On this forum we are all equal. (Well.... Nah only jokin)
Like a boy scout to guys, is a girl guide to gals, as their motto says be "Be prepared" thats all we're saying. You will get as Plas says, blemishes, all good as long as its not a major.
A light scratch will buff out, when you start taking off layers of paint & denting the panels.......ooouch
I think we all cringe a bit.
Tims (Finly owners) post is pretty good advice if you are feeling a bit unsure.
I was a bit unsure the first time I went off road but you learn quickly thats its great fun.

Take care Kat & Enjoy at your own pace.
Cheers Pete

Hey Kat, as Tim said, join a club it's the best way to learn about off road driving and how to enjoy your new toy.

katwoman

I think I will, but as u have seen, I got a long way to go, before it ready for that anyway. ( uhf, lights, tyres etc.)

All you really require is rated recovery points, rated snatch strap, rated shackles, air compressor and a hand held UHF and you should be OK to join a club.

Uummmmm, you werent supose to notice the car !! Apparently cos it's a Bay 'cruiser' it had to be towed by one.. Plus the Katrol had to tow the 'van, cos its not a non-turbo diesel.

Obviously another 4x4 battery would not fit next to a 4.5 engine, so my darling hubby decided it wouldnt let it beat him.. He made a battery tray to fit a 6cyl car battery. Not much modification to the engine bay, and DA-DA.... a second battery to run my winch ect......at 620 cranking amps, it should do the job.
Now to ask Mr Google about wiring and Katrol is ready to recover Qs....
( well, not quite. Still need winch cradle and fit...)

Nice truck Kat. Looks like you get to do the decorating on a clean nissan christmas tree. I used to worry about scratches but i now see them the same way i see scares. They all tell a story.

Nice rig Kat.
I was the same, but now the scrapes and dings all add to the charm.
Once that first one is done and dusted, you will more so enjoy the ride rather than worry about them.
Like the dual battery setup. So in the first pic, is that a gas converter at the back of the motor?
