well as has been bought up on the wa members thread about a get together, i thought i would throw it out there who would come along and what dates would suit as i know a lot of people work away, so put down day/date and your name and where you think we should go

Any Sat/Sun - Rossco - Anywhere. I don't mind travelling, but I need at least a month's notice to organize the weekend off.

Any later than late sept/ early October, the fire restrictions kick in and no camp fires are allowed.

Western Patrol Club have/are going to put out EOI's for the long weekend in Sept for Ellachbutting Rock (Shire of Westonia), maybe we could hook up with them, as I told them I'd be quite happy to find a couple of rock formations to look at. Might be a good recruiting drive for the Club, too.

Any advances on that?

Once you set a date I will see if I can tag along.
Time at home is more of n issue than the minister.

Everybody has a 'ROSTER.'

If somebody makes a decision and gives us 2-3 months advanced notice, most of us should be able to work something out.

How about Saturday the 27th of July at Dwellingup. Bring warm clothes and your gumboots. lol
We'll be allowed to light camp fires then.

I think what we need to do is stick up a poll so we can get a rough idea when folk could possibly be available. Also need to decide what type of driving beach or bush or both. What type of camp, near the beach or in the bush. Long weekend or normal weekend?............ So ideas on what to stick in the poll please?

Just trying to get some momentum going............. I don't know places to go camping and the only places I know for wheeling are the Powerlines, Julimar, Gnangara Pines or Wilbinga, which are great and fine for day trips but IMO not really worthy of a weekend's.

So for the guys that know places, it's time to pipe up.

You just need to organise 1 meet up and then it flows from there.

I do like the idea of dwellingup, it is casual and relaxing and nothing really stressfull about it and even if the weather isn't great being under all those trees offers the first layer of protection and has a few ring type circuits varying from 15 to 100 odd Kms to go for a cruise, and kayaking or fresh water fishing( not that I have even come close to catching anything there but apparently people do).

Can't you just camp around the dam in the camp areas? Could light a fire then which I don't think is allowed in the campground. Could be wrong. Unsure how lenient they r

Followed 1 track which led into another, got a bit lost... Made my own tracks through part of the forest to find my way out!

Would it be possible for Doggy or Strop to post or pm rough co-ords of the general area we'd be headed to so I can decide whether to bring the punt down or not? And whether the track in is suited to a 6x4 trailer with a punt atop it.

I do not want to get hit by lightning and then have a tree fall on me.

In view of what Wayne has said, I totally agree to postpone the trip. The last thing we want to see is members' trucks being wrecked by a falling tree, or worse. Having read what he has written, I'm pulling out, too. Sorry, but I don't think it's a safe place to be.

If you got a Dropbox account, you can copy the file from your laptop and paste it into drop box. You can then share the file by an invite via email I think. From what I remember tis fairly easy to do.

Good call, Doggy. I'm glad I'll be sleeping in my own bed tonight - not being washed away.

Take care out there.
