Going on my first camp trip this weekend with just my mate ( without mum or other adults etc ) so had to take my own gear and thought I'd make life easy and make a chainsaw box. Today they were throwing out some 42x19 pine at work so I snatched it up grabbed a packing sheet from the pile at work and was just a progressing idea from 1 o'clock today.. Turned out the only thing I payed for was the brads for the brad gun and the Ojop (latch at the front) everything else was free from
Work including the hinges which were on a scrap pile bonus!

Yeh I was going to just have it as a box for the saw but added the extra in.. Will keep my mixer bottle in there and just add unleaded from the Jerry can to the oil ;)

I can't remember mate but I work at a hardware store with a beaut discount didn't cost me more than a dollar for the Ojop and the tab for it was only a small one too about 75mm in total

Did you buy zinc plated or Stainless Steel?

It's just zinc.. I've had it for ages since when I had the 4runner and rolled it.. Was originally going to use 2 to hold my big toolbox down but rolled the car before i did haha

Yeah stainless. Phew didn't get ripped then.

Thought might be the case, s/s is a lot more expensive than getting zinc ones

Great idea very similar to my mates, he has handles each end. I say put a decent one on top and carry it like a suitcase,
Much easier as well
IMO I'd be putting screws not brads, we use wooden boxes for most gear, they get trashed in trailer unless glued and screwed
thats even packing well

Sometimes as well it pays to tack weld those over centre clips as they tend to open up. IMO
