31st December 2012, 09:35 AM
A few of us are heading up to Tallarook on new years day as most of us are not getting plastered the night before.

Anyone is welcome to tag along and the meet up is the usual place at Murchison look out.

Check out other trips we have done for novices...... family friendly with my daughter there as usual.

Place should be nice and quiet??

Right now its time to go out and do that oil change and a few other things.... eerr there goes the washing machine.... washing first then oil change!!!!!

Great day today, even the hill of death was a good experience :-)

Good to meet up again mate, glad your family had fun.

Sorry we split early but the heat got to Bek a bit, she's been as crook as a small hospital. Will load up the pics she took earlier though.

I am knackered!

Thanks to BA for today as well, even though he racially vilifies me at every given opportunity, lol

You prick..... had a bloody good day and am buggered, running up and down that hill really took it out of me!!!!

It was great having the place to ourselves and struggle with being back on planet earth.

Went back to the hill that nearly killed me a year ago and defeated it with ease, something to be said for 33's and a good LSD.

Uploading pics right now.

Didn't get loads, but will put up what we have.

Spewing I didn't get a video of KB's second stage of the hill of Death, he didn't just own it, he took it by the haunches and humped it roughly into submission, hahaha

First Video uploaded of Peter's(Irish) Mav attempting to get up the hill, by the time Pete had tried we had the procedure down pat to do the recovery.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izdzfAU__eg&feature=youtu.be

This second Video is of Kevin (KRbrooking)hitting the hill after the long recovery to get me through, his 2.8lt did really well on these climbs but we all go stuck on this one spot with such a steep angle and loose rock.
When he came to a stop I thought it was going to be as tough as it was to get me through but both recoveries were very quick compared to mine, in total 2hrs where spent getting 3 rigs through this section.

That is so funny that hill that nearly killed me a year ago looks like I am driving along a flat road......

Your wife took one look at it and said there is no way we are going up that hill... blitzed it in the end!!!

krbrooking
2nd January 2013, 06:35 PM
Yeh the vid does it absolutely no justice what so ever I also had second thoughts about going up it sitting at the bottom, but once you get going and like you said with a proper 4x4 it is do-able.
