View Full Version : Slider steps, what to do?

I posted this in member build and probably got lost there so try in a more suitibke thread.

I dragged these slider steps from behind the shed, they were on my Hilux so I cut the mounts off and lined them up on bits of wood.

What do you think? Should I shorten them up to the cab length or leave them as they are?

And what is the best fixing, the chassis is full of hole but none that really will be strong enough. Curious to know how other people have got around this obstacle.

It's best not to weld or drill the chassis so I would be making clamps to go around the chassis for the back 2 mounts, and bolt the front mount to the radius arm bracket. If you leave them full length it will protect anything you might mount between the back of the cab and the rear wheel.

Hey Macca, I would leave them as they are and in the future if you decide to do a bit of a lift then you have the extended part to access the Pod.
