Hi there guys.

Wanting to fit a boost controller and gauge to my 2001 GU 3.0L TDI and get the boost set up right, the thing is I just dont have the time to install this myself so I was looking for a garage in the perth area that knows patrols quite well and have done this mod before. Any ideas and a rough price? Also is a dawes valve the way to go?

Welcome to the forum,
I'm an east coaster so I can't help with suggesting a workshop.
3.0 DI motors have computer controlled boost so if you want to alter the boost a Dawes valve is the only way to go.
When you get a minute drop by the introductions page and tell us a bit about yourself and your Patrol.

You could give Rob a call at Robson Bros in Benltey, first class work and he's into that sort of stuff.

Hi Tony,

What Ferret said or you can try Matt at United Fuel Injection in Redcliffe.

Cheers guys, reckon I will drop Rob a call to see what he can do. while I'm on the topic of mods would anybody recommend fitting a 3" exhaust to a 3.0l tdi?

Yes, but not until you have the dawes valve, boost and pyro gauges fitted. ZD30's are very sensitive to airflow/exhaust changes, you need the other mods first. I have a 2 3/4" exhaust on my 3.0DI Patrol.

Pyrometer, also known as an Exhaust gas temperature gauge.
