Hey Guys,

I backed into a pole at the servo today and made a small dent in the panel just below the lights on my Navara.

Has anyone fixed anything similar on their rig before??

Any help and/or photos would be great!!

Remove all dented parts and see whats under neath, an aftermarket rear bar may be cheaper the OE and with lights led might be cheaper as well

I thought i would post some pics to show the extent of the damage. As you can see its not much really.

The paint has flaked off where the highs in the dent are and i dont think it has stretched the metal too much.

If anyone can give me some more advice it would be much appreciated

pull the tail light out,use a large G clamp to clamp the corner nearest to your tailgate down a little (the bit thats sticking out),then with a bit of wood with a rag tied to the end to stop it damaging the paint on the inside, gently push the dent out slowly, thats about as good as youll get without taking back to metal and refinishing it properly. Then spray a little paint over it,dont leave it in primer if you use it,it will just rust.

They are very strong in that area, getting it back into shape without making a mess will take some skill, it has taken paint off so needs painting anyway, to do it right you will need to blend or paint the LHR tub quarter.

It will have also cracked/split open the seam where the dented area meets the rear panel under the tailgate, unless you have at least some experience in panel work, id say take it to a panel shop.
