I've never had an issue flushing/refilling my MQ SWB. Once topped up in the radiator and overflow with new coolant I run the engine for a few minutes with the radiator cap off and rev the engine a little via the throttle and top up every minute or so for about 10 minutes.

Seems to purge out the air fairly easily given there's not much plumbing to deal with on the old girl. Then over the next few days I just remove the radiator cap and top it up and the overflow (obviously with engine cold) as needed.

cheers,
george.

Fill the rad up,put the cap on,start it,run for a few minutes or a run round the block
Let it cool, maybe overnite, top it all up
Check every day,if you have issues, top it up as required
If there was issues just check it all frequently till your happy
Pritty basic and easy, but regular checks is the way with the old stuff

Top readiator up while the front of the vrhicle is slightly up hill, this helps blrrd out any air while filling the engine with coolant.

dont forget to turn the heater on also to get coolant to circulate through it and get rid of air
