G’day Trendsetters!

My family and I had 3 fantastic days at Wooli on the Mid North coast of NSW. We stayed at the Solitary Island Marine Park Resort situated on the banks of the fabulous Wooli River.

This time around we spoiled ourselves and indulged on a powered en-suite site. (With the wife pregnant, I had no choice!) Just kidding dear!!!!!!!!!

Wooli is only 60ks from home (Woolgoolga) 50 mins up the road (or about 300ks south of Brisbane / 600ks north of Sydney via the Pacific Highway.) A typical old fashioned sea-side holiday town, situated in the Yuragir National park with a couple of caravan parks, a bowling club, post office and a take-away food shop and not to forget the fresh seafood co-op!(fantastic oysters)

http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u434/RLI1/Wooli/IMG_1281.jpg

The Park Resort where we stayed had the local hotel/bottle-shop right next door, including the servo and local mini supermarket (OK, micro-mini supermarket!) Anyhow, it stocked everything you would need ie, milk, bread, newspapers, fruit/veg, hot take away food, tent pegs and bait, you get the drift! The Park also had its own bar (The Top Deck Bar) and coffee shop (Fletchers Cafe.)

http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u434/RLI1/Wooli/IMG_1265.jpg

The local hotel is fantastic, just been extensively renovated and caters for the family, shit-hot pizzas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The resort also provides free kayaks and canoes, great swimming pool, jumping pillow, 18 hole mini golf course and most important a boat ramp for the big kids! Ye-haa baby!!!!!!!!

http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u434/RLI1/Wooli/IMG_1259.jpg

http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u434/RLI1/Wooli/IMG_1272.jpg

The river sites allow you to moor your boat (if you are lucky to own one!) right out-front of your site. Or if you are like me just hire one from the park, or fish from the bank. The fishing and crabbing are great. You can even charter the local fishing guru to take you off-shore to catch the big-one or dive to see the ones that got away! Also great surfing and wind-sailing if you want to catch a wave!

http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u434/RLI1/Wooli/IMG_1291.jpg

Ha Haa, I hear you say, “How much does this lot cost!” Well Trendsetters!!!

A normal powered site costs $28.00 per day, a Powered River site cost $38.00 per day, and an en-suite cost $48.00 per day that’s for 2 adults and a further $ 8.00 per child. They also have various cabins and cottages for hire. They are also pet friendly!!

TRENDSETTERS, that’s not all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

If you mention my name RLI/Paul and this forum to Jan & Richard you will get a further 10% discount of your total bill and (NO I will not throw in a set of farking steak knives)

Jan with my better-half!

Or, i nearly forgot, they even have the Australian Goanna Pulling championships for all you Goanna pullers out-there! (I am talking about four legged variety)

http://i1067.photobucket.com/albums/u434/RLI1/Wooli/IMG_1279.jpg

PS, Great 4x4 tracks in the Yuragir National park. I am heading back in two weeks, to do some great exploring, I will keep you posted!

I think the forum Admin should contact Jan & Richard to ask if they would like to be a possible forum sponsor!
