Hi guys have just bought a redarc SBI 12 isolator and the instuctions state to place it as close as possible to the starting battery. I have a 2005 4.2 lt td and the only place i can find for mounting is on the passenger side near the aux battery will this have any effect. Any help will be muchly appreciated.
cheers Macca.

Sounds right I'll grab a pic and put it here, Check back please

The 2 red terminal covers I put on , plus I've told 4x4 shop NO DRILL POLICY
so they used an un used bolt hole, very happy with installation and product

No Wont have any affect mate, Providing you use decent thickness cable. I Used 8mm or (8B&S) to join my batteries together and i have my Redarc next to my AUX battery, worked Perfectly for the last 2 years. Mines a 3ltr but you have the same battery tray so would look almost the same as the pic below of mine

Threedogs... do you know what the blue plug on the right of the pic does?

I'm not tying to highjack the thread, I have a isolator to mount as well :)

Hi DSzuke from what i have been told you can run this wire to a switch in your cabin and if you have a flat starting battery you hit the switch and start of your aux battery.

Thanks for the reply Macca, I'm wondering what the big blue plug on the factory loom does.

Not 100% the blue OE loom plug will join both batteries, think thats acheived through the isolator itself
