Dunno sorry mate, always thought the "E" stood for EFI , so the lack of "E" would mean carby, perhaps they just started to stamp the "plate" different, as obviously both cars are EFI so will be TB45E engines anyway.

Owning a TB45E myself, I can guarantee one thing, its not "E" for fuel "Economy" thats for sure ! :hpfredgeorge1:

Here you go mate...

TB45E and TB45S
In 1997 the TB45 was produced. The cylinder bore was increased to 99.5mm but the stroke remained at 96mm. It was available as TB45S (with carburettor and electronic ignition) or TB45E (with electronic fuel injection and electronic ignition).

mmmmm, im not sure that really tells us "anything" Andy, skb has no "S" on his ID plate, (just TB45) yet as a 2000 model, he will have a engine with EFI....???

Not sure mate I'll check it out. My sources say there are two types with carbi or EFI from 1997 on wards.

Would be interested if anyone actually has an S stamped on their plate too.

on the ID plate the "S" denotes LWB. I have similar figures to AB KW 145@4400 and Nm 350 @3600.
can only find TB45E, but this manual starts 1998. there is a tb42s
"N" for coil and "L" for leaf "E" is multiport inj on "ID" plate
