Safari GQ 1989 SWB Diesel 5 speed How Much?

Well I'm back on the Patrol hunt again and I heard off the grape vine that my friends "friend" was thinking about selling his down here.

Its an 89 Safari GQ SWB, 5 speed diesel.

It looks in good nick as far as i can tell and has done 190,000 km's

It's exactly what I'm looking for and I would love a shorty, especially diesel but have no idea on how much to offer him.

Pretty stock set up, which I like (hopefulyl means it hasnt been serious thrashed).

Any ideas on what I should offer him?

If it were me, I'd be expecting you pay between $5,000 - $10,000. GQ shorties are getting really rare. If it's really well looked after, body and mechanically, I'd say closer to $10,000. If it's looking tired body wise and interior wise but the motor and drive train feels smooth, then I'd offer around $7,000.

Set yourself a limit, say $8,000 but offer 5-6,000 initially.
