Well after just under 7K worth of work on the GU.
The new so called rebuilt gear box crunches gears.
Ill keep the supplier a secret for now pending on their actions to remedy the problem.
Bloody disappointing result.
The old gear box was better than the new rebuilt one.
I am so peed off with the end result.

How do you know it's the gearbox? you may have air in the clutch, this will also cause a crunch, did you fit a new clutch? if the clutch plate was bent during installation, this will also cause a crunch.
Keep us posted, hope it turns out all good.
Cheers, the ferret.

Its the gear box, the new clutch etc was all fitted by a well known Nissan 4x4 guy.
The result so far is its going back to the gear box supplier to have another box fitted.
But get this what takes my guy a few hours takes this lot 4 days.
It crunches the gears from 1st to 2nd, to 3rd and the same going back down.
A bloody dangerous thing when you cant select the gear when you need to.
Stay tuned for the end result next week.
I have also told them they are not to drive the patrol, it must be transported.
A quick check of the Ks when i get it back will let me know if in fact it has been driven.
Excluding a test drive of course.
I have also marked the old box just in case they refit it.
I was told these things get tested prior to being sent out.
So i am at a loss as to why this one got past them.
Tested for what? it crunches gears.
My mechanic told them via email and the phone that their box is worst than the box they took out.
And he is right in saying that. My old one was far better.

Mates wife told shop not to drive her car, jumped on the laptop when they got home to check location,Had GPS STD.
there it was travelling at 75k down a main street away from where it was being fixed.
Quick phone call to ask whats going on and Boss said all good car is here,,,,,,liar liar pants on fire
Mate wanted to go there and tear his head off for free, car returned straight away, no charge for 4 tyres
They used the car to get parts for another job.

Mine went back for adjustments to the gear box??????????????
I found one of the pins out of the top bush on my seat, ill pull it apart next week end to see it fell out, or if they replaced the worn out bush that was in the reco box.
But get this the car went off with over half a tank of fuel and the sub tank full.
It arrived back empty. Total distance traveled 18ks.
And the gear box still crunches in 3rd.
Im so close to taking this lot on.
I must admit i shiet bricks when i seen the guy that delivered it wearing trackie dacks, a real class action.
Stay tuned its not over yet.
The good thing is pics were taken of the car before it left including the dash just in case it got damaged.
I will name this crowd, but only after i start action against them.

Wouldn't be naming names if you intend to take legal action.
Did you ask them what happened to all your fuel????

They should start knocking money off your invoice to keep the goodwill
