will dirty injectors make your car surge when you put your foot down? or dose it have something to do with the injector pump. this is on a gq patrol 4.2 diesel non turbo.

Could easily be a simple matter of fuel filters. Try changing the filter and also check if you have a "thimble" filter behind the banjo coupling on the fuel pump itself. If you have then pull it out using a small wire hook and clean it.
Its quite possible this will fix the problem.
Good luck mate.

Hi. Just bought a 1995 Patrol GQ2 RX Turbo-D. On the advice of my partner (a former diesel user from Europe), I put Valvoline Diesel injector and fuel cleaner into the tank. Has anyone used this, have they had good or bad experiences and am I an idiot to believe anything they tell me in those big auto stores?

cheers,

My experience says check filters, all diesel line fittings are tight and not cracked. The diesel pump may need to be serviced. I take it your are not blowing smoke so injectors are working.
