can you recommend some good all round tyre/rim combos
i have the legal 2" lift only and want to keep it road legal. at this stage it'll be mostly sand or clay/muddy tracks but no massive mud holes

Just get the best tyres you can afford. And yes most people will recommend the best

There is no doubt Mickey Thompson are one of the best tyres. You pay for them though, if you can afford them, go for them. That's why I did not go for them!

Though I've heard the lugs aren't great at mudding, once I stop buying fishing gear I'm going to throw a set of Coopers under her :-)

If I may throw in a question. When traveling in the out back you want and need something ( parts, tyres etc ) any where you go. Are 15" rims the go?

Too bad you're in Perth, we have a 4x4 show looming where you can get great deals on all things 4x4. Tyres included

Yep, I would say 15" are the most common by far. Cheaper too which is a bonus!
Now that I've said this I will probably be desperate for a tyre one day, and the only available one will be a 16"

What do you think of your Maxxis AT700's Kristoffa? They're not that expensive, seen them around for 190-200 or so.

That sounds really cheap, what size? I think they're a brilliant tyre on and off road. Not so great in the mud/clay, but they are great everywhere else. Do recommend them.

I think the show over here is around the 10th Nov, so all depends on how desperate you are for tyres lol

my mate from childhood runs cooper ats on the steel rims. i think my rims are 16" not sure but he has his old alloy 15's in his garage taking up space.
said i can take them, did i mention he's an awesome mate, so there you go, got 15's so ive just got to look for some rubber to go on them and save up the cash to put them together and i'll have a set of mud tyres and sand tyres
but there is a catch......... in return he want my dash mat, its a good dash mat, its done some years and fits perfectly. his is new and stiff and he hates it lol hahaha
fair trade i say
but tyres i want something for the mud and clambering over rocks (smallish ones) how are the bighorns?
