I'm not sure on the 2.8's mate but if you don't get any response here then rack up another 12 posts and download the manuals for it which should help you out.

Why would you want to know tdc for every cylinder? What are you trying to do to it man.

The valve spring compressor is a fairly different design to the norm heres a pic http://www.micksmix.org/book/GQ%20Patrol%20Service%20Manual%20-%20Y60%20-%20Nissan/em.pdf
Myself i would modify one of these cheapies http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OVERHEAD-VALVE-SPRING-COMPRESSOR-CAR-OHV-OHC-CVH-ENGINES-/110846801421?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19cefbf60d to do the job or make my own,

Hi Pngboy45,
I have done my tappets on my 4.5 petrol and my Son's 4.2 diesel which all in line 6's , the simple way off doing this is to start with 6 cyl value as you see the inlet down&up,then you see the exhast start to down . stop then you adjust the number 1 cyl inlet and exhast both at same time. from there you crack it over slow instil you get number 5 cyl exhast on it way down , stop and do number 2 cyl tappets , then cyl 4 , 3 cyl tappets , the 3 exhast tappet down , do 4 cyl , then 2cyl exhast tap down, do 5 cyl , and last of all 1 cyl exhast down , do 6 cyl tappets , put the cover on and your done >>> regards Alex p.s. I did mine Cold head

If your trying to remove valve springs with the head still on then do so with caution I've seen it all go very wrong to many times.
