Ironman steering dampener mk lwb ?????

Hi guys just wondering if anyonehas bought a ironman dampener before ??

if so did yours come with the outter sleave and if so how did you get around fitting it ?

the outter sleave hits centre rod if i was to bolt it down .

do i need to take this product back or do i just cut the sleave off ?

i don't mind modifying but is there a easier solution?

I got a steering dampener from bursons - it didnt come with any covers - althought the old one had a protective boot.
