View Full Version : White writing... inside our out?

Winnie
17th July 2012, 11:26 AM
Just dropped the Patrol off at the tyre shop for some new boots, and the bloke asked me if I wanted the white writing on the inside or out. Doesn't really bother me at all either way, I just told him to put it on the inside.

What is your opinion on this?

Inside...... Sorry to those who like it out but it seems a bit, ummm how do I say this without upsetting people..... The only good reason to have the white out is to extend the tyre to the very last mil and should be swapped at the very last moment..

White out seems a bit "Look at me, Look at me".

I have had an occasion where my tyre wore unevenly so i swapped the tyres on the rim to white out to use the tyre up fully.

White writing out is SOOOO 1980s, its run its course, white writing in for me. Unless they pay for me to advertise, And to Scotty 83 how can you extend tyre life with the writing out??????unless I got that wrong

I guess if your alignment is out a bit and wearing on one side faster than another then swapping it would help there.

I've heard that argument before.....well you should take the Nissan badges off, as with the patrol badges, any name brands on your recovery gear, bullbar, battery, roofracks, awning, tent........and I guess you only wear plain clothes with no brand names showing and ofcourse keep the tags tucked in! Colour in the logo on your shoes, rip the label off your beers! Lol not having a go, just food for thought. I like my Coopers and I don't mind showning people that I run em.:)
I have black rims, so a bit if white on the tyre makes it look better......if your concerned with looks?

My preference is outside as I still think it looks cool, but then I am an old fart

The blue is just a coating to protect the white. It comes off with a bit of warm water.

I have white lettering outside on mine. I don't give a rats about having the logo there (I don't even wear branded clothing), it's just that the white lettering on big AT tires with black sunraysia rims looks mean. In the end if it looks good to me, that's all that matters as my truck's there to keep me happy, not impress anyone else, IMO =D

Too much kerb bumping......

I too am white writing on the outside if it is on the tyres. I think the white writing breaks up the black of the tyres, especially on a white car.

Me personally - white in the inside - not for any other reason other than it makes it less out there and some Johnny wanting to slash your tyres, let them down, or otherwise. You know - tall poppy syndrome and all!
