Glow Plugs not Glowing?

I'm having dramas with my glow plugs not glowing this winter mostly in the morning on my GQ and the glow plug light won't come on either.

The fuse seems to be ok, I should just replace it anyway but what else can I check myself to tick off the list?

Check your battery has good life, mine was down a bit and cold morning starts were bad.
New battery no issues.

Swapped batteries this morning and it worked straight away.

It is amazing the difference a new battery makes to diesels.
My old battery (AC Delco) was 5 yrs old and the guy who tested it said if the Patrol was petrol it would be fine but diesel no way.
New battery and it starts first klick.

Yeah I came up with starting issues thinking my glow plugs might be too old too. But It was just the battery although I the middle of the day it seemed fine

Aha!! My old commy had the most horrible smear on the windscreen so I got new wipers and cleaned it and it was ok for a while but started smearing up again.
