I pulled it all apart again and did a measure up of the parts involved.
As mentioned removing the bottom half of the split bush and spring is an easy task, just circlips involved.
The bush on the bottom of the gear stick, which is a ball joint is loose on the ball joint this fits into the selector arm.
The hole in the selection arm is 16.2mm bush dia is 15.7mm. .5mm clearance.
The ball joint on the gear shift is 35.7mm dia.
The top half of the split bush has a hole in it that is 30mm in dia and located above the ball joint on the gear stick.
The gear shift leaver where it is molded into the rubber vibration joint is 34.5mm dia
Is there any one that can please tell me how the hell im am suppose to get the top half bush off?
Next question.
The entire area where all the action takes place is bone dry.
I have found a small pipe that enters this area, can some please tell me what its purpose is?
I thought maybe to supply oil to the area?
Or can some one please point me towards some one that knows their stuff when it comes to these gear boxes.
I have had 2 near misses all due to the fact of not being able to select first or second gear.
Thanks in advance for any help.
