Hi all

Patrol GR 2.8TD 1997 Y60

This is the Troll when i got it
(the picīs is making the car looks small.:( hehe)
[IMG]http://i860.photobucket.com/albums/ab161/Green1974/06062011161-1024x768.jpghttp://i860.photobucket.com/albums/ab161/Green1974/06062011156-1024x768.jpg

Its been used as a company car before i got it.

I am still working on getting it ready for the Danish inspection
Ned to do it every 2 year
I have completed all the work under the car. New brakes, bearings, etc.
(no styling yet.. Only after the inspection...:) :) )

That last pic???? It looks like you removed that like you would a fibreglass canopy?? has this been converted to a Ute and the lid put back on as a removable canopy? That'd be pretty cool!

And the back window of the cab looks like it s in line with the middle of the back door? is this an Extra Cab conversion? Some more pics would be great, very unusual conversion.

Look forward to seeing the final result mate.

@ MudrunnerTD. Yes the roof is a cut out.
And the roof can be put back on if you want to
The wall where the rear window is sitting and the buttom on the trunk is made in 2 ps aluminium.
And there is a rubber thing holding it all togethe.

Its something to do whit the tax on the car when you by it from new..
This car is what we in Denmark call "Made for yellow numberplates" The car is cheaper from new and you pay less road tax
To get the Yellow Plates.!
You ned to remove the rear seats, and you ned to block the acces fro driverseat to the rear of the car you need a "cage " I wil take some picīs later of the "cage" ..:)

Some crazy old rules.

OK.. Some update on my baby.. :)

Its running sooo fine..
The only problems i had was the powersteering leaking
got some new hoses and problem was fixed.
And the Diff. Lock was making problems.
So i put in new hoses for the vacum. And problem was gone.

Comming up:
Made a deal with a dude from Polen
He will put in new fenders and paint the hole car.. :)

and then another polish dude will do leather interior.

Why Polen..?
I save about 60% taking my Patrol to Polen compared to the prices in Denmark..

EVERYTHING is cheap in Polen.. ;)
And its only about 8-9 hour drive from here.. he eh

(and again sorry for my bad spelling)

Is the cut off section on the back from the factory or was it modified by someone else? Looks great!

Green Baron
30th October 2015, 05:40 AM
Thanks....:)

"My Baby" is in the work shop for the time..
The rear end of the frame was weak from rust. :(
so i decided to put in a new frame from a donor car i got.

And all the projekts i got on the Patrol was on hold and been on hold for the last year..
I bought a new house and all of my time went to getting the new house ready.

But last week i started up on removing the frame on the donor car.. :) I miss my Baby And winter is comming.. :D
So soon i start on the "New Frame project"
Pics are comming..!

And the story about the cut off section:
It is not factory made.
In Denmark where i live.. ;) the tax rules is crazy.. hehe
And the cut off is done to get the car is cheaper from new (fist time tax) now its only a 2 seater van
And you need to block the acces to the back from the driver seat (the cage behind the driverseat) to make the car allowed to register as a van
and i can get the yellow numberplates.. Lower tax every year:) :)

It was made by a small company that do handicap conversions on cars. So i think you only will see it on carīs from Denmark

I vill do some more picīs of "the cut off"
