Hey all its been discovered that the 2inch lift in my gq is not all 2inch. The front is right but the back sits 4cm higher then my brother shorty which has a 2inch lift also. That was measured top of spring to bottom of spring. I'm guessing the rears are 3inch so my question is can i get away with just adding 30mm coil spacers in the front for now as i dont want to spend money when i'll be doing a 4-5inch lift come tax time.

Other option would be find or swap for 2 inch springs or leave it as is if it wont cause any problems.

from the top of the coil mount to the bottom. I measured mine and my brothers the same. The front springs measured near identical for both cars.

Could be a different dampner or load rate. Spring spacrs will be fine for now if you really want otherwise id wait till tax time and just do it once

Yeh if it will be fine like that i'll just leave it dont want to spend the money if i dont have to.

Could it be that the rear springs are set to have a bigger load permanetly fitted ie: full rear draws, roofracks & rooftent this & a trailer would probably lower it to close to same as front height ????

Maybe they were ordered incorrectly or the wrong ones were delivered !!!

The car has no towbar but has had one previously fitted as it has a trailer plug fitted.

Looks about the same as my Safari. I recently replaced my coils with heavy duty ones 50mm lift and when not loaded it sits high in the back but once I get the back loaded or a trailer on it levels out

i put a 4'' lift in man 5'' looked to high and the popo will be more likely to pick on you.. it dose get costly if you do it proply eg. geting radious arms in sted of drop box's comp spec rods ajustable and so forth 161911619216193 16190

leave it, just be sure that the brake line at the rear diff is not stretched when the diff is fully extended, you dont want it to tear or fail when out playing, fit an ADR approved extended brakeline ASAP if this is the case

My Mav sits very similar mate I've got 2" Dobinson lift and the constant load rear springs It takes about 200kgs in the back before it even looks like sitting down in the arse.

yep, friends of ours who tour a bit deliberately got 2" dobinson at the front, and at least 3" at the back, to cope with drawers, rack and loads on and in same
