Stiff auto transfer

Just picking brains here but with my 2009 GU ( x WA Police major crash reaponse) the mega stubby transfer shifter I find is very stiff / tight to switch between all gears ie 2wd, hi 4 and low 4 etc.

Would this be from lack of use as most of the time (prior to me) the rig was on the black top or possible mechanical issues somewhere?

Try a bit of Nulon gear oil additive in the transfer case. I put some in my motorbike gearbox (on advice from the guy that rebuilt it) and the gears are easy to shift and slick. Also - would not hurt to change the oil first.

Cheers Bill, will have a gander. Anything to watch out for or pretty much standard in the oil change?

Colour, metal and water are the things you always look for in gear / diff oil. Other than that it never hurts to change the oils when you buy a second hand vehicle. You don't know where its been.
