Hey mate, I have had a couple of sets and they are my current tyre on the GQ. They are simply the Best tyre you will fit to your car! Maybe the Sticky Treps might get the prize now but over all in the mud and rocks Simex ET2s will smash the competition.

They will just drive everything.

The model pictured is the ET2 ( extreme trekka II ) the JT2 is the Jungle Trekka 2 and also a great tyre.

I highly recommend fitting Simex Heavy Duty Tubes to your ET2s and you will be unstoppable.

Lucky Bugger! Enjoy

I've got the Silverstone MT117 Extremes, and they are almost identical in design.

X2 with mudrunner. They are absolutely amazing! Had a second hand set on my MQ shorty and they were awesome. The middle was worn down to about 10mm but the side knobs were still like new, and they'd pull like a trojan through mud, clay, loose rocky hills.

Diabolical! Little to no grip in the wet and noisy as all hell.

Wear out quick and not real good in the wet. If/when I get another set I'll keep Coopers or something for daily driving

Yep sounds like your driving next to a helicopter...lol.

As long as you drive sensible, don't tailgate and don't take corners hard I find no problems driving these on the black top.

They do however wear out quick on the road. Would be tempted to carry them on roof and in camper and use a set of 31's for specialised long trips such as myself going to the QLD meet up.

I was under the impression the simex versions are not legal for road use due to the internal consruction of the tyre, anyone confirm this is correct ?

My tyre guy told me that they are legal. I was gonna get them and he talked me into the Silverstones

Heres a pic of the tyres guys. They spent the weekend playing out at the springs :) and im very happy with my buy. Turned out when i got there they were only 10.5 wide but this is no drama. These tyres new are the same price as a new 35x12.5 MTZ

I run 35/10.5/16 Simex ET2s and they are a great size. the 11.5 are slightly taller and closer to a 36 but you will be more than happy with them mate. For the price they are simply awesome.

Hang on?? They are simply awesome regardless.

There was a couple of comments about the Silverstones?? Truly, not even close to the Simex. The centre blocks are much smaller and will wear out in half the time, much louder on the road. You are going to love these. If you have a mate that is on Silverstones he will probably be looking at his 3rd set when you wear these out ;) Plenty of guys went to the Silverstones when they came out, tried them and if the $$ where int eh bank went back to the Simexs

You will love them

Yeah i thought i would try them as i was watching a winch challenge dvd and found the only real difference between vehicles was tyres and the ones that ran the centipedes or sticky treps drove the furthest before winching i put this down to tyres as all those setups are very similar.

I've had a set of these since probably 2003, and they were 2nd hand then, came with rims off a Suzuki that was running 6 stud cruiser axles and all sorts of mods that fell on its roof and died.

Have done a fair bit of road on them, both getting out of Brissy to various places, like LCMP, Levuka and other bush trips, and in Tassie since moving here, as again everything is a fair way away and I have retired my scary old BFG AT's as they have gone hard and are just nasty to drive on, so they even get use when I'm towing a trailer on the road, or when I've taken it for work trips o just give it a run.

I think they are reasonable on road, just got to drive within the limits of a lifted vehicle etc. And offroad, great once you deflate them..... and let them down a long way! I was out getting firewood the other weekend and went for a play up a muddy rutted washed out hill without letting them down - made it hard work and required more locker usage than what I expected.
