Hi guys!
A few weeks ago I find a strange “bug” in auto gearbox of my shorty. (rd28T, 1994)
When gearbox is cold and I switch into reverse and doesn’t put into accelerator strong (less than 1000 rpm) vehicle began to drive normally and after 7-10 meters I fill something like if something catch me for my front bulbar and hold then speed falling down and tachometer too and car drive back very slow.
What do you think it can be?

Hopefully someone can offer help mate - auto boxes are a bit of a mystery to me (I have one also).

Drop the oil and check the filter if its not that
then it could be sensors if not try the convertor

Very common with the GQ's. I don't know what causes it but only does it for the first reverse of the day typically when going back down the driveway.

With vehicle cold and you jump in, start up, select reverse and let it idle backwards on level ground, it goes OK for a length or two then it is almost like someone pulled the handbrake on. Apply the brakes or go forward or whatever and it wouldn't happen again.

There was a couple of threads on other Forums that ran into hundreds of replies of people who experienced it and we tried to find out what was the cause. Never did get it figured out 100%.

I will try and find a link to some other threads.
