Hi guys, does anyone know if there is a way to transfer contacts from iPhone to sat nav,
Normally you just sync them and transfer, but iPhone is a different language a won't do it. Maybe so you have to use apple apps to make them richer. Any ideas???

Never tried it - I just use my iPhone as a sat nav. Got a $14 app that works heaps better than my Garmin ever did but then again I've never needed to use it in completely remote areas ... Metroview found heaps of streets/roads between Ippy & Toowoomba that my Garmin said didn't exist

Never used iPhone as sat nav, old eyes may struggle, that's why I like using sat nav, can see it and hear it. Might try it though, what app did you use Shazza.

I have a 7 inch sat nav unit (Chinese thing) and run Garmin and iGo. So far for street nav I am happy with the iGo maps as my street has been here now for about 4-5 years and still does not appear on Garmin. But I also have OziExplorer CE installed for the touring side.

Brad and I used it up at Teewah the other weekend and even has GPS coordinates so you can save/pin favorite places. Was handy for the tracks up there cuz at first we were missing the entrances (doing Kings Bore from the bitumen end - bloody drive past entry twice !! LOL)

This was where our campsite was (hmmm overshot it once or twice too until we worked out we could pin it)

Sadly this is the biggest downfall of apple. I wont go near an apple product because they are so uncompatible with everything else.

Exporting your Iphone contacts to a pc is quite easy. Google "Exporting contacts from Iphone" and you should find everything you need to know. This was the first page I found - http://forums.techarena.in/portable-devices/1217260.htm

Once you get it to you PC you then need to get it to your Sat Nav. You need to find info regarding importing contact lists to your sat nav. Once again Google, or your device manual will be your friend.

You may have to do it with a .csv file via Excel.

Good work buddy,
need sat nav daily for work and havent had an issue in 3 years with it, its spot on that was until i got iphone...hahahaha, bloody technology.
Now every time i need to make call i have to dial through handset which i a pain as your driving.
Would be great if i could transfer contacts without doing it manually which is why i havent transfered them yet, to much of a hassle.

Thanks SCADA
