Hi Guys,
A member of my family has a 1998 model GU Patrol.
It unfortunately has an issue at the moment with it's turbo.
Has anybody had an issue with oil leaking from the Turbo. It's had it's Rotor ballanced and a GT20 Overhaul kit put it it.
The mechanic still can't find why it's leaking. A couple of mechanics have had a look at it, and can't help.
I can't tell you much more info than that, as it's not with me all the time.

Has anybody had a similar problem? Hope you can help.

Cheers!
Scott

G'day Scott,
Mate are you sure the oil is comming from the turbo? If not, it could be residual oil from the intercooler running into the turbo. Try cleaning your intercooler and see if this helps the problem. Hope this helps.

I'd be going back even further, oil in the inlet stream is usually caused by crankcase ventilation vapour (PCV). You may need to fit a catch can or PCV filter to get rid of the cause of the oil. Remove the inlet ducting before the turbo and see how far back the oil goes, if it goes most of the way back to the air filter then it's most likely PCV oil. Any oil in the inlet and intercooler should be cleaned out as Shayne suggested.

Scott only has 2 posts up and they were back in September, so this is more for the benefit of others who go searching for info.
