Hi guys just did this today to my antenna (see attached) so now im looking for a new one, I like the idea of the twin pack, but considering the price difference if the cheaper one is fine, then i'll go for that, anyone had experience with the cheaper one, is there anything wrong with it? cheers

I wouldn't touch the no name with a barge pole (it's a 9 dB as well so may not suit you) and I don't rate the Benelec all that much either but thats a personal opinion.

IMHO for only an extra few bucks it is hard to go past the value in a RFI explorist for a twin element http://www.prestigecom.net.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=372&products_id=56

either that or bite the bullet and replace your broken co-linear element

This is the same as the one I run, works very well

Both the links to Dick Smith aerials are made by Benelec, certainly not a "no name" brand, they make very good aerials

no probs, I guess it depends on what type of terrain as well that you will be using the UHF in, I chose the twin option as some of the areas i go to here in WA are quite hilly so it was better for me to get 1 with the 3Db mega stumpy aerial and have the 6.5Db more for convoys and low level terrain

Great choice, cobber.

His ad is confusing as the title says chrome and the text says black (the CD900's come in either option)but they are a very nice elevated feed antenna with good propogation... and a 3 dB rubber stubby element will screw straight on if you decide you need that option.
