Hey everyone.
Son, came home today and surprised me, by getting teacher to allow him to make the rear draw set for the back of our unit, at school, as part of his projects and assesment.
So he is now looking for a set of plans to work from, base set and/or with mods.
Would anyone be able to help out with this.????
We have the ST-L which has the rear aircon at the rear on passanger side.

Any help or ideas would be very much appreciated.:clapping:

Cheers

Rick

Made some off these plans, scrolll down page and download plans.
Had them in a dual cab, lasted 5 years without any trouble then sold them on Ebay for $450 when I sold the DC

I can't believe the teacher is letting him build the drawers. Does your son have to pay for the bits and pieces or is the school paying for them, cause if thats the case I will go back to school (if only for a few weeks) LOL

Son, can seem to talk his way into anything....hehe..
He is very good at carpentry and teach is very supportive of his idea's.
Not sure yet about paying, but I would have no hesitation in paying for it all.. I gather the school gets materials cheaper, and son advised that teach is already ordering the gear for it.
Will let ya know which way it goes.

Mate I think the drawer face is alloy, the carcases are timber

I remember when I did woodwork and metalwork (back in the dark ages) that all we did was make a cutting board, an oil can and a plastic dish, now they get all the good stuff, but then when I think back we probably thought that the things we made were "good stuff" as well....oh how times have changed.

Now all you have to do is give him the measurements of the bits and pieces so he can put the dividers in the right place...........

Son, advised this week, that we only have to pay for the timber, so basically, once he has finalised qty he needs, off to Bunnings or timber yard to get what he needs.
The school pays for the rest, IE: fittings, runners-rollers-handles-locks and what eve else needed.

How cool....

Ordered the timber today @ a cost of $155.00, add the carpet and adheasive, and total outlay from our end should be approx $200.00..
Not a bad price for a full set of draws, made by your Son..
Delivering the timber tomorrow to the school. Hopefully No.1 son remembers to take some pics of the process.

Hi Cowboy,

I am about to take delivery of an 09 ST and am looking for plans to make my own drawers. Any chance of keeping us all updated on your son's progress and posting pics and plans as the build progresses?

I am sure there are many of us that would also love to tackle this build.
